Garden Design Features for The Whole Family to Enjoy

Some people design a garden suitable for adults while others dedicate the entire space to their children. It is common for people to keep the area plain and boring so that the kids can’t cause any expensive damage. That is a waste, in my opinion. We should all make the most of our backyards whatever our circumstances.

If you are looking for some inspiration this year, and have a large budget available to you, here are some garden design features for the whole family to enjoy

Summerhouse

Have you ever wanted to get out of your home on a summers day and pretend you were somewhere else? A summerhouse could be the answer to your prayers. There is no need to convert a spider-infested shed into one either; designers have produced some structures that are magnificent and rival the main house. Don’t expect it to be cheap though, the price reflects the quality.

Swimming Pool

Many people are put off swimming pools by the weeks of heavy construction it takes to install. Nowadays there is less to installing a fibreglass pool than you think. There is no need for shuttering and endless deliveries of concrete with this option. You must hire someone to excavate a hole and cart the spoil away. Then you drop the pool in the void and backfill around it. What could be easier? Ask your kids what they would like most in the garden. A swimming pool would be at the top of it. Remember how excited you were when you went swimming as a child, and you can understand why they are too.

Hot Tub

Think of the fun you could all have in a whirlpool spa on a winter’s evening. There might be frost on the ground, but you could all enjoy the clarity of the winter sky from the comfort of a steaming hot bath. We are all a bit eccentric, after all.

Games

If you build games into your back garden, it will give you a chance to play with your little ones whenever you can. Think about a crazy golf course. The kids will love it, especially when they beat the adults. All bets are off when it comes to crazy golf! Be careful; people take golf seriously, and you might see an adult cry.

Maze

Build a maze in your yard. You can make it out of hedge that will grow to whatever height you need. Of course, it is difficult to change the layout when it is complete, so give it plenty of thought beforehand. You might think that there is no need to have a tall maze; it is only there for fun. Box hedging is an ideal plant to create the feature. You can keep the whole thing about twelve inches high, so anybody who has had enough for the day can step out. The kids will love this feature.

I think if you could include all of the above, your family would be happy. There will never be a dull moment again, and you won’t spend quite as much time watching television as you used to. That has to be a good thing for your health. I hope you create the garden of your dreams.
